Nothing like a bunch of snow to brighten up a cold winter day!  The reflections in the glass made it twice as pretty.

Thunder watched from under the cover of the front porch.

Smart dog!

  2. I just love the second one : the composition is really amazing, with the heart at the top, the reflection of the flag and the dog… The last one is my favourite, though.

  3. The reflections and colors are just fantastic. Thunder looks like he is on guard. Wonderful photos.

  4. I love the last photo with the flag!
I don’t know why – it brought tears to my eyes this morning!

The reflections are interesting. Even with your title – I didn’t realize their were reflections in the glass – until I took a second look. Funny how you can look at something – and not see the obvious.

    Nice work.

  5. I love the photos of your dog Thunder! All the snow really is pretty and makes for a very nice reflection in the glass of your red door.

  6. Very nice photos! the reflections are great and so is your house!

  7. Glad you like it Valerie.

  8. Thank you Pat and Deb

  9. Lovely photos and glad to see Thunder has a nice spot to watch it snow.

  10. Lovely photos! And one very smart dog :-) Our dog loves snow and spends a lot of time rolling in it — and then I spend a lot of time cleaning her off when she comes inside :-)

  11. That’s a very “heartening” door!

A DAMSEL WHO LOVED SHADES OF RED

A damsel who loved shades of red
    Discovered she’d been sore misled;
    She had no more rose,
    Nor blush for her nose—
If she finds the thief, the guy’s dead!

  14. Oh I can’t pick a favorite! I absolutely love the red door. The reflections in the door and the beautiful dog are amazing in the second photo and the third one of the dog and and flag and snow and ohmy…..just love it. I want to see the rest of the house. I know it’s awesome. :)

  15. It does look very cold and I can’t blame Thunder for staying on the porch. He needs little booties for the snow. It all looks wonderfully patriotic with the flag. Nice reflections.

  16. Simple but lovely!

  17. These are great shots. Thunder is so patriotic, just love the reflections int he door too. Great post for the Letter D.

  18. The only good thing about being in North Carolina right now, aside from seeing the rest of my family, is no snow!

  20. I’ve heard of a few companies here doing the same thing – adding vegetable/herbs to the perennial beds or plain old veggie gardens for the employees to reap the benefits. A new form of community gardening.
