Thought I would join in the fun for Vintage Thingies Thursdays~ mixing my love of plants and planters with vintage and whimsey~ you get these really fun planters. Nothing can make me happier than stopping at a garage sale or skimming ebay and finding one of these types of beauties.
My sons both think they are “terrifying”. The two of them get the biggest kick out of making fun of my love of whimsical ceramics. They just don’t get it. These are hard to find and not to many people have ones just like them. Not to mention they are a bit on the crazy side. That’s what makes them great!
They may not like them now, but one day way way way off in the future when they think back on me, I am sure that these little guys will haunt their memories for a good long time.
Just to get back for all their inside jokes and cross room looks, I may even have to hand them down to future grandchildren just to be sure they linger in my son’s lives for many many years. Or maybe they will eventually acquire a bit of my good taste. Who knows? Anything can happen… Right?

Those are really cool looking! Do you use them more for decoration or do you plan on planting something?

I have seen many funny pieces of pottery, but that last one is a real kick in the pants. I think it is just fantastic.

I kind of understand your sons, too, but on the other hand you confess the craziness of these planters, so I can see why you like them.

Ok, first off, your blog is gorgeous, and I can tell you have a real love for flowers!
Those planters are all so cute! I have a couple, and I wish I could find them at garage sales like you do, but I’ve gotten them from Ebay. That doggie one with the fly on his butt is adorable!
My daughter, who will be 21 in December, has said all along that when she has her own house, everything will be very modern. But lately, when she comes home from college, she says it’s so cute, and she looks to see what’s new. So there IS hope!
Have a great day, hopefully playing in the dirt!

I’ve never seen planters like these – what great finds! Isn’t it funny how children find the oddest things so terrifiying – LOl! If I were that first puppy and saw the bee on my back, I’d have that look, too – hee!!
Cheer!

Being quite old, I remember when all your planters were quite fashionable. Cute display, thanks for sharing.
