Nothing like a bunch of snow to brighten up a cold winter day!  The reflections in the glass made it twice as pretty.

Thunder watched from under the cover of the front porch.

Smart dog!

I bought this Santa sign at a garage sale for $4.  I couldn’t believe my luck, that I had found it.  It stands about 4 ft tall and is made out of wood.   I think it may have been an advertisement of some sort long ago.  Whatever it was, it has new life now bringing Christmas spirit into our home year after year.

Amaryllis are the easiest of flowering bulbs to bloom.  It’s botanical name is Hippastrume and it is now a popular Christmas time flower that originated in South American tropical regions.  They are not winter hardy bulbs but they are fun to force in the wintertime to have holiday blooms.  They always seem like a Christmas flower to me.  It’s the red ones that I love.

On this first day of November I thought I would reminisce and look at my flowers from warmer days.

 All red for Ruby Tuesday

These trees were so bright red in the sun.

They were breathtaking and more beautiful than a camera can show.

On a drive to see the autumn leaves,

we came across an old abandon  house.

Although it was run down,

the red front door paint was still vivid and eye catching.

To me, red never gets old!

This is how my porch looked last summer.

It was subdued and warm and I liked it very much….then.

This year I was looking for a little more pow so I went with my favorite color

…..RED.

A quick coat of paint ,some new fabric to cover the cushions  and voila…

fun,

Fun,

FUN!

Simple, inexpensive and easy. Just the way I like it.

 Next year?

 Who knows?
