I liked this photo for not only it’s shadow but also it’s reflection.

This is a photo in the park across the street from my house.  This was the volley ball court but we got so much rain it’s more like a lake now.

We did a photo shoot yesterday for Gearcor.  I kind of liked this one turned upsidedown.  It’s hard to tell the reflection from the subject.  It almost makes me like a rainy day for the great light between the raindrops.

Nothing like a bunch of snow to brighten up a cold winter day!  The reflections in the glass made it twice as pretty.

Thunder watched from under the cover of the front porch.

Smart dog!

You may think the only thing I do is blog about boots, shoes and gardening.  Well, that’s not true.  Among many of the hats I wear, I am also the photographer for Gearcor’s online stores.  I thought I would take a minute and share a bit of the fun.  You know the old saying~ believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.  This can often be true in the world of advertising.  The seeing part, is what I am talking about here.   Creating images of products in their element isn’t always easy to do.  Part of the fun of photography is creating an image that captures people’s attention.

If you visit Rainbootsonline.com,  which is another Gearcor site along with  gardenshoesonline, one of the header photos you will see is this picture of the Kamik Elle rainboots in eggplant.  This shot looks like it was taken on a very slushy day, but in reality, it was dry and cold with no snow or ice at all.  This is one of the fun parts of my job~  I get to be part of creating an illusion with my camera.  For this shot, we brought in snow from a local ice rink.  When they resurface the ice, it creates (ice shavings) snow.

A quick hosing of the parking lot in an uneven area with a few chunks of snow strewn about and we have a slushy, messy day that reflects the boots in the puddle.  Just the look we wanted to show you how great these boots can make you look in even the worst conditions (real or not) and your feet stay dry and warm to boot! (Sorry I couldn’t help myself on that one.)

For these Muck Boot Crocs, they wanted them next to a real crocodile. ( The model and I say thank goodness for photo shop)…but it made for another interesting photo shoot.  To see this photo I am referring to, you will need to click on this  link ~rainbootsonline~ then click on the  rainbootsonline logo in the upper left hand corner of the site until you see a couple of fun pics I took out in the urban jungle.  With a little photoshop effects, you have a crocodile on the city streets next to these great boots that look terrific in any setting.

~ And FYI ~no models, were eaten in the making of that shot.

So this is how it’s done, a lot of creative, rescourceful people, cameras and photoshop.

I love what I do.
