What a difference a day makes in springtime. 

 We actually had a pleasant 50 degree day today with sunshine and everything. 

 There were so many of my old friends peeking their heads out to enjoy the lovely warmth. 

 Hopefully there will be even more soon.

After helping shovel out , I  made a snowman to celebrate the (hopefully) last snow of the season. (I am an optimist)

 I will be flaunting a few flowers for fertilizer friday~notice those dried hydrangea buttons ~you can’t keep a good gardener down, snow or not!

 The fall cleanup is in progressand we are preparing for cold weather.   

Sure there are a few gems left in my gardens,

but mostly it’s all done. 

 Except for the leaves

Luckily the trees are more than making up for the lack of flowers outside my windows.   

 The sun has been out, making the colors more brilliant than ever. 

   But that will be over soon,

and then we wait for Springtime once again.

The view of the park that is across the street from my house was magnificent yesterday during sunset. 

 The trees were glowing with the reflecting light of the sun. 

The setting sun made the shadows  long and deep.

It was  pretty,

but pictures can’t do it justice.

The ducks were having a grand time in the water. 

 I am always amused when I see them go underwater with their bottoms in the air, and I always wondered if they closed their eyes when they went under….. 

I guess I have my answer.

 When I think of Hydrangeas I think of old fashioned gardens. 

To me, they spell romance and warm summer days. 

Mine are all very young  but I was able to get enough to fill a vase  this year. 

 It ended up in my bedroom. 

It is so fulfilling to see flowers from your own garden right before you fall asleep and as soon as you wake up in the morning,

especially when they are hydrangeas!

The temperatures are in the high 90′s to low 100′s here for the past week or so. 

The heat is one thing, but the humidity makes it so hard to breathe. 

It’s hard to find a spot that is cool to stay in unless you are in front of an air conditioner.

  Although most of my plants love the humidity, I can’t seem to keep everyone’s thirst quenched. 

 It doesn’t matter how much I water, it isn’t enough. 

  I hope most of my plants can endure the heat.  

Some of them are looking awful. 

But I won’t show you those.
