This is an amaryllis blooming.  It caught the afternoon light just perfect.  This is one of my favorite photos that I have taken.

lilac Lilacs welcome spring and early summer with their fragrance and beauty.  Their bouquets fill our homes with the scent of nice weather and sunshine.  That is why I chose it for my flowering shrub (tree) picture in the Gardening Gone Wild~ Picture This  Photo Contest. Head on over to see all the rest of the entries.  There are some spectacular photos there.
