philodendron leaf

These leaves have a bit of Christmas spirit with their green and red.

Happy Saturday!   I swear this pretty feline is posing for me.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

snow covered berries

The first (real) snow inspired a walk where I found these berries looking all festive. I am not sure what kind of bush this is because it was covered in snow and belonged to a neighbor.  I had never noticed it before but it jumped out at me with those pretty red berries covered in fluffy white snow. I hope your monday is going well!

Camera CrittersYesterday while standing outside of our house, my son and I were greeted by a cute little fellow.  He was gray and fuzzy and cute.  His eyes seemed big and his gait was more like a hop. Sort of froggish .  He scampered over to us and when I bent down to look at him he was about to climb right up into my hand.  Of course I was somewhat afraid he would bite me but most of all I was concerned about touching him.Should his parents be around, they might not like my scent on him and might abandon him, that is if they hadn’t already.  He was not sure footed, in fact climbing up the small hill he was near, he toppled over and landed on his back.  He recovered quickly and skidaddled into the bushes.  I hope he found his way home before the neighbor’s cat could find him.  Sooo cute.  He was about 5 inches long plus a tail and he looked healthy but lost.  I am thinking maybe he fell out of their nest and didn’t know what to do.  Luckily, I did know enough to run and get my camera.  So here he is….   web-squirrel-002web-squirrel-003

We live across the street from a city park that has acres of oak trees. Needless to say there are plenty of squirrels around but I have never seen a baby one.   The squirrels that are in our yard have their nest in the cherry tree that hovers over our driveway.  We spent many days watching them throw small branches down onto our car.  You would sometimes think someone had been trimming the tree.  They also spend a lot of time chasing each other around our trees. Except for the fact that they have so much fun rearranging my bulbs, I actually enjoy watching them scurry around.
