This is a vintage milk box I found in my in-law’s garage many many moons ago.  You would leave the insulated box on your porch and the milkman would leave your dairy products in it.  I think people would even leave their payment inside for him to take~those were the days.

The kitten is a stray that wandered onto my porch one day.  His name is Scout and he now belongs to my nephew.

primroseThis past week, my husband and I got the materials to make our raised beds for the vegetable garden. web-wed-175

On Friday we stained them with deck stain(matches our decks and porches). On Saturday he dodged the snowflakes and raindrops and put them together. Today, I dug up weeds and leveled the soil where we are going to place them. web-wed-011

While I was out getting pics for this post, I couldn’t resist a few flowers that wanted their pictures taken.  web-wed-139

I had a visitor sneak by while I was out there too.  Silly cat should know that a dog lives here.  I don’t know why she would be in my yard.  She quickly jumped to the top of the fence and smiled before leaping to the other side.  kitty

Hopefully this week we will get the soil put into our raised beds.  I can’t wait to have them done and ready to start planting.   I just wish the nice weather could stick around for a few months or so.  bleeding heart

Maybe we could call it Summer.
