Metamorphosis of a mission style chair

I bought this chair several years ago at a garage sale.

I refinished it back then and covered the old springs with new foam and fabric.  It has held up very well.

It has been on our front porch during the nicer weather, the past three years, and it was finally showing the wear and tear of the elements.  I took the time to refinish it this summer. The wood was weathered but nothing a little love couldn’t fix.

I made it a bit darker this time to look more arts and crafts era.

I put a faux leather seat on it since it will be outside and a couple of coats of polyurethane and we are back in business.

A welcoming chair to sit and enjoy a warm summer afternoon.

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.  ~James Dent
