Macro Monday 10/5

foxgloveFoxgloves still blooming!

Digitalis purpurea grows 2 to 4 ft in height and it blooms June through September, although these are still blooming in October.

Foxglove is a source of digitalis  which is prescribed by doctors to strengthen the heart and regulate the heart beat.  It is also VERY poisonous!   But Beautiful too!   Just goes to show that looks can be deceiving. zinnia

Flowers… are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world.  ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1844
