What could be better for a gardener than bringing plant life inside when it’s too cold to be outside enjoying it? Furthermore, decorating it and bringing out cherished pieces of Christmases past to make it even more beautiful than it already was. It’s such a great tradition! Visit http://www.christmasarchives.com/trees.html to read about the history of Christmas trees and their decorations. It is very interesting.
I have many vintage decorations and ornaments but some of my favorites are my bottle brush trees. Some of them are new made to look old, but some, like these two, are from the fifties. I just love their mercury glass ornaments and mica glitter.
These snowmen have seen better days, but they still make me smile as I bring them out each year, cracks, chips and all.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to collect a lot of vintage glass ornaments.

This mica frosted one was one of my Mother’s ornaments when she had her first tree wi
th my Dad.
Only two survived the 58 years they have been married. I hope I can keep them around a lot longer as well as the rest of these memories I pull out each year to enjoy on my tree.

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air. ~W.T. Ellis

I like those old bottle brush trees. I have some of my family’s old glass ornaments but I have been afraid to use them since I got cats.

beautiful vintage decorations Teresa. They are my favorite too but I hardly have any. I love the bottle brush trees but all mine are new, not old.
ps thanks for the positive comment about my ugly pond cover the other day ~ you are so right about not noticing when it’s covered with snow!

I love your trees! I’ve got a collection of them, but I want more! And your snowmen are so great too. But what I especially love it the tinsel on your tree! Brings back great memories for me, of throwing the tinsel up in the air, and seeing how much of it actually landed on the tree!
Happy VTT!
