Garden Blogger’s Blooms Day August

Garden Blogger’s Blooms Day is hosted by Carol on her blog May Dreams Gardens

Although, I too have the August issues, I still have a lot going on in my garden.   Many of the full bright flowers have faded, but there are still stome stars shining among the dried leaves and parched flowers. Here are a few of them.

web-pics-030web-pics-020web-pics-033web-pics-040I am very excited about the pumpkin I found among the huge vine leaves.  That is surely a highlight for me.  I have never grown pumkins before.  We will see how that goes. web-pics-023

The weather here is finally feeling like summer although it is winding down to fall, so I intend to absorb every last bit of my flowers and garden while I still can.  Fall is beautiful here but the winter is so looooonng.

Enjoy the rest of August!

Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.

You take the most beautiful pictures! I love seeing them. Good luck with your pumpkin, they are fun to watch grow and see how big they end up.

I agree with Catherine ~ your pics are beautiful. I feel like I could pluck that ripe red tomato off the screen and eat it ~ the photo is just that good. Your garden is very pretty right now. and I hear you on enjoying what’s left of summer before it’s winter again. I’m so not ready ~ I’m feeling a bit “cheated” this year since we didn’t have much summer weather either.

A good post — the veggies as well as the flowers of August. My fav photo was #6 counting down because I love seeing the mechanics of one’s garden as well as the flora. The brick edging and the stone mulch caught my eye immediately.

Hi, nice Hollyhock! And nice detailed photos too. What camera/lens are you using?

  • 5 Teresa:

I am glad you all are enjoying my pictures. It’s nice to be able to show them while giving a glimpse into my garden. I use a canon EOS Rebel xsi camera with a canon efs 18-55 mm lense.

Great photos teresa! Is that a morning glory on the trellis near your house? I was just thinking today of doing a similar thing with a clematis in a very prominent spot at my house – basically right up against the house next to the front door. I wondered if it would look terrible throughout the year except for the couple of summer months…

Wendy, I think the trick is to have a really pretty trellis. Mine is sort of rusty metal with a really nice dragonfly on the top. that way when the flowers and vines of my morning glory and clematis that I have growing there, are finished, it still looks pretty good. Besides, here in NY, when it is cold outside most everyone hurries right in the door because it is too cold to linger and notice my dead vines. me included!

Hi Teresa, your blooms and produce look delicious!

Happy, happy Bloom Day. Your garden is indeed beautiful. I like your blog too, and I don’t think I’ve been by before now. Such a treat.~~Dee

Teresa, your August blooms are truly a delight, and your photos are a wonderful! I’m so envious of your beautiful tomatoes. Ours have late blight and everyone I’ve spoken to seems to be suffering the same plight. Lucky you to have healthy vines and fruit!
That’s a great shot of your house. Love the angle. We have almost the same camera. Mine is a Rebel XTi.
Your morning glories on that pretty trellis are gorgeous, especially next to the buddleia.
Don’t you wish summer could go on and on?
Happy August to you too. Thanks for stopping by :)
