Fall is upon us on this first friday in October although there are still plenty of blooms weathering the weather that has turned drastically cold.  Today it was 40 degrees in the AM.  Yuck!  Too soon if you ask me.  Kind of gloomy, damp and windy also.  Have I painted a picture for you yet? mandevilla marigold

The good news is that my Montauk Daisies are finally blooming.  They are supposed to bloom in July but this year it wasn’t until late September when they finally burst into bloom.  I hope they stay nice for a while.  I will pick some and bring them in, just in case, since I am not outside quite as much lately to enjoy them like I would be if it were August.  They are such a great plant in my garden.  They are more like a shrub covered in daisies.  I have found very few problems with them ever.  They stand about 3 feet tall with shiny leaves that bush out until mid to late summer, then they bloom until frost.  I just love them. web-o-015

My rose bush (hot chocolate) has given me one final bloom to make sure I don’t forget how beautiful she is.web-rock-086

No worries~ how could I?  That memory will have to keep me warm until next spring.

Weather is a great metaphor for life – sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, and there’s nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella.  ~Pepper Giardino

    Awesome!
What’s the red one? Desert rose?
Besides, the rose is beautiful. I’d love to paint one.

Wow! You’ve still got some great flowers blooming! That’s wonderful. Mine are all beginning to wane except for the mums that are now flourishing. We had freezing temperatures the last couple of nights which have taken its toll on the garden. I had to scrape ice from my windshield the other morning. Sniff sniff.

I always look forward to FF in your garden. I am in love with the beautiful color of purple in your blooms…and those rose buds…oh how pretty they are!
Your photos are just so perfect and it makes us feel like we are right there with you looking at each bloom!
thanks for linking in again this week. I am saddened that all I have left is what I posted…the rest is blackened and mushy from the heavy frosts…and tonight we are supposed to get a rain/snow mix…which will make pulling my beds a big messy job tomorrow!!!

You did paint a gloomy picture but you can’t tell it from your glorious photos. It is looking warm, bright and sunny in your area. Those roses and daisies positively shine.

I just love that picture of the rose and daisy together. Each flower’s colors are such a contrast to that of the other.
