Can you say Snow?

There isn’t alot of flaunting of flowers here in upstate NY today.  There is however, snow,  and plenty of it. web-shoes-068

Yesterday while it was snowing I did some snow blowing until that died, then I shoveled a lot, then I laid down and made a snow angel….just because  it’s fun.  web-shoes-011

Who am I kidding?  I laid down  because I was a exhausted and hot.  The cold snow falling on my face was theraputic and the snow sculpted to the shape of my body was healing to my sore back with it’s cold pack likeness.  web-shoes-005

I can admit that playing in the snow can be hard work when you are not 25 anymore.web-shoes-017

It was fun too, though!  After enjoying that rest in the snow, (imagine what my neighbors were thinking) I stood up and saw the beautiful angel I had created. She was like a large butterfly in the freshly fallen snow.

Then I came inside and checked out the photos I had taken. This next photo~ I found kind of unsettling…web-shoes-022

Do you see the face?  Angel or Demon? angel face

 I say Angel,web-web-shoes-020

my son says….Terrifying.

I Like this quote I dislike this quote~“Snow and adolescence are the only problems that disappear if you ignore them long enough.

it has to be an angel!!! that’s all I have to say!!! don’t even consider the other!!!
I have a photo of a very bad storm rolling in…where the clouds actually look like a very large angry face looking down on us…it was very un-nerving to see…especially since after the storm passed we heard that it killed someone!

The snow photos are pretty. What fun to play in the snow..I say Angel for sure..then I thought, that would go for big bucks on ebay…remember the grilled cheese sandwich that looked like an angel or something?

There’s an ethereal quality to that face in the snow, it must be an angel. Yours is the first snow angel I’ve seen on a blog!

  • 6 lotusleaf:

It looks definitely like an angel! Have a great weekend!

Your angel did turn out very pretty. I’m afraid if I laid down to do one I’d never get back up. ;-) But there aren’t many people up here so I wouldn’t have to worry about anyone seeing the old lady in the snow, the fallen old lady in the snow. LOL

How interesting. It all depends on the way you look at it that it appears it could be one or the other. We will say it is an angel, no demons allowed. My neighbors already think I am off a tad running around with the camera. Laying on the ground to get pictures, etc. A snow angel probably wouldn’t be any different. I could hear them saying”What is she up to now”, though. LOL!
    Have a wonderful weekend.

Ah, don’t worry about it. It’s in the Bible, you know; the shepherds saw the angel of the Lord and they were ’sore afraid’! Angels might be the good guys, but they can still be terrifying!

Actually, I don’t see your snow angel’s face as terrifying. Odd, perhaps, but certainly not devilish. ;)

That snow angel is amazing! We had snow today, rare for us. It will be gone tomorrow. i have never made a snow angel. I had no idea they turned out so life-like!

omg. I just got goosebumps. Had to speed past that last photo.

I also just rested in the snow and thought the same thing. If you’re all bundled up and warm, it definitely feels therapeutic. I love the stillness and quietness of a freshly fallen snow (before the neighbors come out to shovel, before the kids come out to play). it’s just great.

Very lovely snow photos! And your angel to me is more butterfly with lovely marked wings settling on the white earth! Intriguing!

  • 15 Stine, Canada:

I say the angel is a friend not foe. :)

The snow is beautiful! Yes, even though it;s February.
